For my fellow or future Pickering residents, a snapshot of some of the future plans coming up in our City. The Pickering Re-development around City Hall will include a new library, a performing arts center, a combined youth & seniors center, 3 condo towers and a hotel. We have Durham Live that will have the first phase of their development (Casino) open in 2020, a new retirement residence is in the works, Universal City condo's tower 3 will be available for purchase this November. Whites Road will be extended to the 407 (not sure when) and another large industry will be moving into Pickering (Kubota). The Airport is still on the table.

Pickering will no longer be that bedroom community that we have become accustomed to. The Pickering re-development and future business development that is planned for this city will generate thousands of jobs and opportunities. I have always said being next door to Toronto serves us well just in terms of our GO station location alone...and moving forward, Pickering is going to explode and offer many opportunities for employment and investment. Consider how many rentals will be needed...and how you might create your own wealth opportunity by investing. Should you invest in one of the current or upcoming condo developments? Where else can you live close to our great lake at the prices we still see here in Pickering? I believe that is going to change. Think about it.
